Angles of Light (Poem)

I look upon your face with awe and curiosity. Those bright dawn eyes glowing with shared excitement.

In full sun we met soft lips in quiet passion, stiring the craving for your comforting love. Reeling in all the knowledge of what makes your soul beautiful.

Complacent to your needs, I fail to see your loyalty stumble and fall. The afternoon light makes a cruel mockery of your sweet face as I turn around.

Twilight’s hollowing effect takes its toll on your expression, now ugly and pinched. I can’t see the face I found in dawns brilliance and never will again. Tomorrow is another day.
